CMS Blackboard Initiative

For more than ten years, TDP has supported the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services on a number of initiatives, from identifying new and relevant skill-building topics and technologies to developing classroom training and building their curriculum. Here are a few case studies from their years of collaboration.


CMS selected Blackboard®  as their LMS in an effort to standardize course development and quickly capture institutional knowledge.  They needed an implementation plan, standardization, and training for the new users with varying levels of computer experience.


TDP provided consultation during implementation, created a methodology, development processes, style guides and templates to drive online learning.  Video tutorials, online training and coaching, electronic and interactive job aides, all hosted on Blackboard® were used to introduce this new platform.


CMS is able to quickly capture institutional knowledge from a broad range of subject matter experts and create a repository to be used agency wide.  Additionally, more courses have been developed and are tracked online utilizing the LMS.
